Martha "Martie" Marie Antenucci Carroll
Martie, 74, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 in Roswell, NM. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. No funeral services are planned.
Martie was a resident of Artesia, NM for the past 24 years. She was born to Robert and Ora (Dugan) Antenucci in Canton, Ohio on August 24, 1947.
Many people may remember Martie as the owner, operator and only waitress at "Martie's Place" cafe in Riverside in the 80's. After moving away and then back to Artesia in the late 90's, she worked for the Girl Scout Council office. Then she enjoyed many years working at Yates Petroleum, before retiring. She made many wonderful friendships at Yates Pet that she treasured to the end.
She loved and cherished her 2 girls, her 2 granddaughters and her 3 great grand babies whom she spent so much time with these last couple years. She was excitedly looking forward to another great grand baby coming this August.
If you knew Martie, you know how special she was. She was kind, gentle, loving and generous. She loved to play cards and it didn't matter who won as long as everyone had a good time, or so she would always tell us. She was a huge Alan Jackson fan and loved to dance back in the day.
Martie was preceded in death by her parents; former spouse and lifetime friend Dennis Jensch; brother in law Bill Kuperus; sister in law Linda Antenucci; and brother in law Henry Klatt.
She is survived by her two daughters; Denise Crook and husband Mark; and Tammi Jensch, both of Artesia; granddaughters Alisha Rincon and husband Lorenzo of Dexter; and Deni Marie Jensch of Artesia; great grandchildren Lorenzo, Arabelle, Levi and baby Rincon on the way. Brother Robert Antenucci and partner Marianne Gibson of Kimberling City, MO; sisters Roberta "Angie" Klatt of Pecos, TX and Anita Kuperus of Artesia; and brother in law Sonny Hope of Artesia. Her special nieces and nephews; Marie and Michael Durham of Artesia; John and Jenn Antenucci of Kimberling City, MO; Kevin and Shawna Hope of Artesia; Kelley and Raul Dominguez of Pecos, TX; Michelle Pierce of Artesia; Bill and Brenda Hope of Artesia; Kim Antenucci and Julie Nava of Laguna Niguel, CA; Doug and Sara Kuperus of Sequim, WA; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
