Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 7, at Artesia H.S. Auditorium for Marquise' M'Kole Weast of Artesia, New Mexico.
Ms. Weast, 17, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at her home.
Michael Joiner will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary beginning at 11 a.m. Monday
Marquise' was born May 20, 1997 in Carlsbad, New Mexico; the daughter of Michael Weast and Melinda (Fuchs) Weast. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia.
She was a Junior at Artesia High School and a member of Hermosa Church of Christ, where she was very active with the youth group. Her school activities included cross country, choir, All-State choir, track, Fellowship Christian Athletes, and honor society. She thoroughly enjoyed singing, piano, reading, movies, and her many friends and family. But most of all she loved our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ and chose daily to serve Him and spread His love to others. She ran with perseverance the race set before her. Hebrews 12:1.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Clayton Fuchs, and Gladys Weast, and aunt Roxie Jackson.
Survivors include her parents Michael and Melinda Weast of Artesia; sister Mercedes Weast of Lubbock, Texas; grandparents Melvin Weast of Enid, Oklahoma and Linda Fuchs of Artesia; aunts and uncles Steve and Pam Weast, Bill and Susan Oldham, Darice Webb, Katrina and Jon Ward, Ronnie Jackson, Kevan and Pam Fuchs, Keith Fuchs, Kelby and Chris Fuchs; cousins Kyle Weast, Michelle Curl, Brett Timmons, Corey Timmons, Kara Montgomery, Alexis Timmons, Ladd Jackson, Landon Jackson, Chanda Jackson, Kayla Ward, Jessica Fuchs, Devan Fuchs, Canyon Fuchs, Kelton Fuchs, Caden Fuchs, and McKinnah Fuchs; numerous second cousins and friends.
