Services for Mark "Rooster" Spolton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17 at West Main Baptist Church in Artesia, NM. Pastor Jason Kraft will officiate. Interment will be at the Spolton Family Cemetery in Lakewood, NM. Pallbearers are Shawn Martin, Tony Heady, Trent Spindler, Warren Roberts, Caleb Morton and Sonny Mann.
Visitation will be held on Sunday September 16 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Mark "Rooster" Spolton went to be with his Lord on September 9, 2018 after a long battle with cirrhosis. He was at home in the mountains which he loved surrounded by his family.
Rooster was born on September 29,1960 in Huntington, England. He was born to Barbara Louise Gosling Spolton and Ernest Jeffery Spolton. He married his wife. Tammy Webb on July 22,1978.
Together they had 3 daughters.
Rooster came to the United States in 1980 where he worked at Wooley Tool in Odessa, Texas. He later became a tester at T&C Tank Rental and Anchor Service. He moved to Artesia with his family in 1989 to work in the Artesia Yard of T&C. He worked for T&C for over 15 years before eventually buying it, a true example of the American Dream. He retired in October 2015 and moved to Ruidoso at the beginning of this year where he lived, what we called, 'THE PORCH LIFE". When Rooster was well he enjoyed golfing, traveling and watching Cowboys football while rooting for the other team.
Rooster was preceded in death by his wife Tammy Webb Spolton; parents, Ernest and Barbara Spolton and nephew, Steven Sharp.
Rooster is survived by his 3 daughters. Amanda Martin and husband Shawn, Tera Rodriguez, Jamie Heady and husband Tony. All of Artesia. Grandchildren: Amber Spindler, Trent Spindler, James Heady, Lilly Heady, Ami Heady, Lucas Heady, Erin Martin, Kristen Martin and God daughter Sunny Mann. All of Artesia Sister Monica Skinner and husband Colin, Mandy Edwards and husband Eddie, both of England. Special extended family Suzie Morton, Cody Price and husband Richard, all of Artesia and Mandy Morton and partner Carrie of Melbourne FL. And many beautiful nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Encompass Hospice Team and especially Beth St. Germain for the love and care they gave Rooster in his last days.
