Marjorie Barney

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, at Woodbine Cemetery for Marjorie Faye Barney of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Barney, 73, died Monday, June 23, 2008 at Sunset Villa Care Center in Roswell, New Mexico. Rev. J. B. Craft will officiate at the services. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Thursday beginning at 12 p.m. Mrs. Barney was born October 4, 1934 in Hawthorne, Louisiana; the daughter of Quintin Harvey and May Lamberth Harvey. On Jan. 3, 1964 she was married to Harry Barney in Carlsbad, N.M. She came to Artesia in 1975 from Carlsbad. Marjorie worked as a Bank Teller and was a member of the Eastern Star. She was also a well known artist and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her husband Harry Barney of the family home; mother May Harvey of Leaseville, Louisiana; daughters Anita Donahoe and husband Michael of Memphis, Tennessee, and Kimberly Belter of Amarillo, Texas; sons Bill Thomason and wife Valerie of Phoenix, Arizona, and James Barney of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
