Mario Martinez

Services are scheduled for 10 am Friday, August 13, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Mario Alberto Martinez of Artesia, New Mexico. A rosary is also schedueled for 6:30 pm Thursday at Our Lady of Grace. Visitation will be at Terpening and Son Mortuary on Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm.

Mr. Martinez, 40, died on August 4, 2021 in Artesia.

Fr. Vijay will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Lopez, Angel Martinez, Jorge Mendoza, Francisco Cobian, Luis Rojo, and Luis Barrera. Honorary pallbearers will be Damian Martinez and Jennifer Cobian.


Mario was born June 27, 1981 in Sacramento, California; the son of Francisco Martinez and Yolanda Cobian Martinez.

He did contract work in the oil field and loved babysitting his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed music, attending the horse races and roosters.

He was preceded in death by his father and by his grandparents.

Survivors include his mother Yolanda Martinez; a son Damian Martinez; brothers Adalberto Martinez, Antonio Martinez, and Francisco Martinez; sisters Anabel Martinez, Maribel Barerra, and Alma Martinez; and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
