Graveside services to celebrate the life of Marilyn Virginia "Ginger" Bratcher will be scheduled at a later time for family at the Lake Arthur Cemetery.
Mrs. Bratcher, 88, died Thursday, January 4th at Good Life Assisted Living in Carlsbad, NM.
Mrs. Bratcher was born July 6, 1935, in Lake Arthur, New Mexico; the daughter of Charles H. Foster and Ada (Price) Foster. On December 16, 1951, she was married to James C. Bratcher in Hagerman, NM.
Along with her husband James (Pete), they owned and operated Pete & Sons Pump Service, which was founded in 1973. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ginger loved working in the yard. She was blessed with a green thumb and could make anything grow. With great enjoyment, she would spend time outside feeding her birds and turtles. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Artesia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James C. Bratcher (Pete), her son James C. Bratcher, Jr, brother Charles Foster, sister Joyce Houghtling, and a granddaughter Mandy Bratcher.
Survivors include sons David Bratcher and wife Angela of Artesia, Jack Bratcher and wife Sue of Farmington, NM, John Bratcher of Artesia and Earl Bratcher of Artesia; daughter Susan Robinson of Hobbs, NM; sister Kay Windham of Roswell, NM; 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Ginger will be greatly missed by her family. We will see her again when the Lord calls each of us home.
