Marianne Lewis

Marianne S. Lewis, 72, of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away on February 3, 2008 at her home. She was born on July 30, 1935 in Carlsbad, NM to Walter and Bernice Solt. Marianne was a life long farmer and rancher in the Artesia and Queen , NM area. She enjoyed bowling, crafting, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Jake Funk, parents Walter and Bernice Solt, Sisters Virginia Solt and Jean Coleman, one brother, Jon Solt and nephew Dick Johnsen. Marianne is survived by her brother, Joe Solt, and wife Bea of Roswell, NM, her son, Clay Funk, and wife Connie of Sweeny, Texas, daughters Gayla Myers and husband Bucky, of Brazoria, Texas, Tana Hart of Marble Falls, Texas and Tomilyn Mim Cammack and husband Michael, also of Brazoria, several nieces, nephews, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Local services were held in Sweeny, at the home of Clay Funk on Saturday, February 16. A memorial service is planned for early summer in Artesia, for family and friends, with burial of cremains to be at Woodbine Cemetery.
