MARIANA CARRASCO
Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Mariana Carrasco of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Carrasco, 82, died Saturday, May 3, 2014 at her home.
Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roman Esquibel, Nicholas Esquibel, Alonzo Telles, Eloy Telles, Max Carrasco,and Jordan Duran. Honorary pallbearers will be Diondre Ochoa, George Montes, Larry Ramirez, George Buechner, and Efren Telles.
Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Wednesday at 6:30 p.m..
Mariana was born September 8, 1931 in Marfa, Texas the daughter of Liborio Perez and Paubla Campos Perez.
On April 16, 1950 she was married to Daniel Carrasco in Artesia. She was a longtime Artesia resident. He preceded her in death July 21, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and a grandson Ronnie Telles.
Mariana was a housekeeper and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was also a crucillista and enjoyed crafts including sewing, crocheing, and ceramics. She loved her family and her dog Tiny.
Survivors include her daughters Gloria Buechner and husband George of Roswell, N.M., Sally Telles and husband Efren of Hobbs, N.M., and Nelda Esquibel of Artesia sons Maximo Carrasco and wife Delma of Artesia, and Abel Carrasco of Artesia sister Rosa Molina of Hobbs brother Gonzalo Perez and wife Erlinda of Artesia grandchildren Carrie Duran, Marla Barnes, Julie Jeffery, Cecelia Carrasco, Max Carrasco, Alonzo Telles, Eloy Telles, Roman Esquibel, and Nicholas Esquibel 13 greatgranddaughters 8 greatgrandsons and a greatgreatgranddaughter.
