Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30 AM, Saturday, September 14, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Maria Ortega of Artesia, New Mexico.
Ms. Ortega, 78, died September 11, 2019 at her home.
Fr. VJ will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Amos Ortega, Jr., Jeff Ortega, Lewis Ortega Jr., Fabian Lara, Eric Delarosa, Ramiro Lara, Ricky Delarosa Sr., Nicky Delarosa, and Manuel Delarosa Jr.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Friday. A rosary is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Our Lady of Grace Church.
Maria was born February 21, 1941 in Marfa, Texas to Enrique Ortega and Dominga (Barragan) Ortega.
Maria was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking sewing and listening to music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Amos Ortega Sr, and by two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include a brother Lewis Ortega of Artesia; sisters Alice Ortega, Flora Ortega, Frances Ortega and Henrietta Ortega all of Artesia; grandchildren Amos Ortega Jr., Javen Ortega, Jeff Ortega and Natasha Savoie; great-grandchildren Aiden Ortega, Aaron Ortega, Andrew Ortega, Augustus Ortega, Kely Ortega, Bailiey Savoie, and Braelynn Ortega.
