Maria Leyva

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 28 at Woodbine Cemetery for Maria Molina Leyva, 904 W. Texas Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Leyva, 80, died Saturday, February 23, 2002 at her home in Artesia. Jim McFarland will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Edwin Leyva, Sy Leyva, Luis Carrasco, Manuel Acosta, Raymond Anaya and David De La Rosa. A prayer service is also scheduled for 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Terpening Son Chapel. Mrs. Leyva was born October 25, 1921 in Barstow, Texas; the daughter of Valentin Molina and Josefa Bonilla Molina. On May 6, 1944 she was married to Cleotilde Leyva in Redford, Texas. She came to Artesia in 1944 from Redford. He preceded her in death May 24, 1984. She was a housewife and member of Jehovahs Witnesses. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by one sister. Survivors include a son Ismael Leyva and wife Alyce of Artesia; a daughter Sylvia M. Carrillo and husband Gerardo of Artesia; brothers Manuel B. Molina and wife Jesusita and Valentin B. Molina and wife Patricia all of Artesia; sisters Juana Dominguez and husband Felix of Artesia and Cuca Carrasco of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren Ismael Sy Leyva and Edwin Ray Leyva both of Albuquerque, Leticia Carrillo of Artesia and Lori Ann Ramirez of Phoenix, Arizona; three great-grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews.
