Maria Juarez

Services are scheduled for 10 am Saturday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Maria Refugia Juarez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Juarez, 96, died on July 14, 2024 at her home in Artesia.

Father Vijay will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Juarez, Matthew Saiz, Jeremiah Juarez, Josiah Juarez, Cedric Perez, Clarence Sentell Jr., and Adrian Saiz. A rosary is also scheduled for 9:30 am on Saturday. Visitation will be at Terpening and Son Mortuary from 2-6 pm on Friday.

Maria was born on July 4, 1928 in San Juan, Durango, Mexico; the daughter of Jesus Chavira and Juana Hernandez Chavira.

She was a longtime resident of Artesia. She was married to Salomon Juarez in 1975 in Villa Campo, Mexico. He preceded her in death.

Maria enjoyed being outdoors doing yardwork, spending time with her family and she especially enjoyed her cokes and candy.

She is survived by her son isidro Juarez; a brother Vidal Chavira; a sister Maria Chavira; and also by 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
