Maria Cardoza

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, at Woodbine Cemetery for Maria de los Angeles Cardoza of Mexico. Mrs. Cardoza, 83, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at U.N.M. Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services. Mrs. Cardoza was born October 14, 1925 in Durango Mexico; the daughter of Felipe Vazquez and Francisca Arrellin Vazquez. In 1959 she was married to Melton Cardoza in Mexico. She just recently moved to Artesia two months ago. He preceded her in death 1973. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, a daughter, and a grandson. Maria was a homemaker and was of the Baptist denomination. Survivors include her daughter Hortencia Cardoza of the family home; sons Jose Garcia of Mexico, Serapio Garcia of Mexico, Emeterio Garcia of Mexico, Juan Ramon Flores of Mexico, Fernando Flores of Mexico, Juan Antonio Cardoza of Mexico, Jesus Cardoza of Oklahoma, Fernando Cardoza of Oklahoma, and Raul Cardoza of Artesia; sister Socorro Vazquez of Mexico; brothers Augustin Vazquez of Mexico, and Jesus Vazquez of Mexico; 41 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
