Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Lake Arthur, N.M. for Maria "Mary" Maxima Baeza of Lake Arthur.
Mrs. Baeza, 85, died Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Emergency Room of Artesia General Hospital.
Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services with burial at Lake Arthur Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas Baeza, Marcelo Baeza, Arturo Baeza, Ray Chavarria, III, Angelo Madrid, and Kris Luna.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
A reception will follow services at the Lake Arthur Community Center.
Mary was born April 6, 1930 in Artesia, New Mexico; the daughter of Miguel Salazar and Tomasa (Lujan) Salazar. She was a lifelong Lake Arthur resident.
On July 6, 1956 she was married to Fidel Baeza in Artesia. He preceded her in death August 31, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters; a brother; her son David Baeza; and daughters Christina Baeza, and Corey Baeza.
Mary was a homemaker, a farmers wife, and also worked as a teachers assistant for the Lake Arthur School system for 7 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a Crucillista.
Survivors include her son Tommy Baeza and wife Patricia of Chama, N.M.; daughters Susie Salcido of Lake Arthur, and Gracie Raigoza and husband Florentino of Lake Arthur; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
