Services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at First Baptist Church for Collard, Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Collard, 93, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at her home.
Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery.
Marguerite was born September 28, 1912 in Graham, Texas; the daughter of Joe Carter and Ella Parsons Carter.
On September 17, 1942 she was married to Glenn Collard in Roswell, N.M. She came to Artesia in 1942 from Graham, Texas. Her husband preceded her in death April 1, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and by one sister.
She was a secretary for the Artesia Public Schools and was a member of First Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. She was a member of the Mary Griggs Chapter of D.A.R.; served on the boards of the Community Concert Association and Arts Council; was a member of the Artesia Sewing Club; an original member of Great Books; and was a lifetime member of Xi Beta Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Survivors include her daughter Linda Price of Artesia; grandchildren Vickie Brisco of Portales, N.M. and Mark Briscoe of Roswell; a great-granddaughter Summer Lee Briscoe of Roswell; a great-great-granddaughter Audrey LeeAnn Briscoe-Perez of Roswell; and a niece Suzy Brazell of Lewisville, Texas.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lakeview Christian Hospice, 1300 N. Canal, Carlsbad, NM 88220; or to the Ocotillo Theater.
