Margie Miranda

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 9, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Marita Huertaz Miranda, 801 W. Cleveland Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Miranda, 65, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia.

Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Monique Miranda and Ianna Miranda.

A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Grace Church.
Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Church beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Margie was born February 2, 1946 in Artesia, New Mexico the daughter of Felimo Huertaz and Alejandra Castellano Huertaz. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia.

On November 22, 1972 she was married to Augustine Miranda Sr. in Artesia. He preceded her in death August 10, 2010.


She was a housewife and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, a son Austine Miranda Jr. and a daugther Luisa Villegas.

Survivors include a daughter Christine Mirand and Isaac Hunt of Artesia stepsons Manuel Miranda and wife Norma of Artesia, and Jesse Miranda of El Paso, Texas sister Nema Villegas of Artesia 11 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
