Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Thursday, November 14 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Margarito David Chavez Baca of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Baca, 70, died Saturday, November 9, 2002 in Artesia. Father Benedict Folger and Deacon Pablo Merjil will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. A Rosary service is also scheduled for 6:30 P.M. Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace. Mr. Baca was born February 3, 1932 in Lovington, New Mexico; the son of Moises C. Baca and Refujia Chavez Baca. He was married to Hope Catano on April 2, 1950 in Artesia. On April 1, 1976 he was married to Olga Olivas in Artesia. She preceded him in death August 8, 1987. He was also preceded in death by his parents; by brothers Albino Baca and Jimmy Baca; a sister Vera Medina; sons Ricky Baca and Eddy Baca; daughters Anna Maria Baca and Cindy Baca; and a granddaughter Adriana Huber. He was a self taught contractor with David Baca Sons; and former truck driver. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, former member of the Moose Lodge; was a musician and loved playing the guitar and singing to the Lord. Survivors include his step-mother Francisca Kika Baca of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; sons Antonio C. Baca and wife Sally of Albuquerque, N.M., Gary Moises Baca of Phoenix, Arizona, Margarito David Baca II and Marcos P. Baca both of Artesia and Jose Luis Catano of Loving, N.M.; daughters Nancy Baca Martinez of Albuquerque, Viola Baca Guiney and husband Tim of Phoenix, Maria Baca Huber and husband Donald and Monica D. Baca all of Artesia; brothers Randall Baca and Moises Baca Jr. Truth or Consequences; sisters Dorothy Prag and husband Frank of Artesia, Lugie Medina of Lovington, N.M., Carmen Baca of Phoenix, Mary Baca of Truth or Consequences, Rachel Baca of St. Johns, Arizona and Margie Soto of Phoenix; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
