Margarita Hinojos

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 14 at Terpening Son Mortuary for Margarita M. Hinojos, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Hinojos, 88, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003 in Artesia. Pastor Alfredo Carrera will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Xavier Hinojos, Ray Hinojos, Domingo Hinojos, Jr., Adam Hinojos, Rudy Hinojos, and Manuel Hinojos, Jr. A prayer service is also planned for 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Terpening Son Mortuary. Mrs. Hinojos was born February 22, 1915 in Ruidosa, Texas; the daughter of Lucio Martinez and Ysidra Borras Martinez. In 1937 she was married to Mariano Hinojos, Sr. in Ruidosa. They came to Artesia in 1948 from Texas. He preceded her in death in May of 1957. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and by four brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include sons Nestor Hinojos and wife Mary of Hobbs, N.M., Manuel Hinojos and wife Emma of Hobbs, Frank Hinojos and wife Anna of Provo, Utah, Mariano Hinojos, Jr. of Artesia, Juan Hinojos and wife Socorro of Hobbs, and Domingo Hinojos and wife Carmen of Hobbs; a daughter Alicia Bustamante and husband Leon of Artesia; brothers Selso Martinez of Artesia and Jesus Martinez of Artesia; sisters Maria Melendez of Ojinaga, Mexico and Ramona Baeza Gutierrez of Ojinaga; 31 grandchildren; 71 great-grand-children; and 14 great-great-grand-children.
