No local services are scheduled for Margaret Worthington, of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Worthington, 87, died Friday, August 15, 2008 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Mrs. Worthington was born July 14, 1921 in Shamrock, Texas; the daughter of Andy Robert Compary and Eula Wooten Compary. On May 13, 1942 she was married to H.F. Butch Worthington in Neosho, Missouri. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia. She was a 1939 graduate of Artesia High School, received her Registered Nurses degree from Regina School of Nursing at St. Josephs Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. in 1942. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past president of P.E.O. Chapter J, past member of Woodbine Cemetery Board and Artesia Public Library Board, past president of the State office Nursing Association, greatly enjoyed playing bridge, and loved traveling the world with her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Andy Compary, Jr.; and sister Dorothy Bob Tess Ashton. Survivors include her husband Butch Worthington of the family home; son Robert Worthington and wife Tammy of Artesia; daughter DeeBee Worthington and husband Tony Wright of Gillette, Wyoming; grandchildren Robin Dehoyos and husband Scott of Plano, Texas, Marli Trusty and husband Kane of Bellgrade, Montana, and Paula Harshbarger and husband Clark of Corpus Christi, Texas; 4 great-grandchildren.
