Margaret Naylor

Veterans graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 14, at Woodbine Cemetery for Margaret D. Naylor, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Naylor, 87, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Artesia General Hospital. Mrs. Naylor was born August 21, 1920 in Jonesboro, Arkansas; the daughter of Reginald Lester Hughes and Rosa Pearl DoddHughes. On May, 1953 she was married to Harold B. Naylor in Artesia, NM. She came to Artesia in 1952. He preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1986. He served in the United States Army Nurse Corps during World War II. She was a housewife. She received her Registered Nurses degree from Western Oklahoma Charity Hospital, and her Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia University in New York. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Artesia Senior Citizen's Center and Artesia Womens Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters. Survivors include a son Forrest E. Naylor of Artesia; nieces Marie Eaves of Albuquerque, N.M., and Laura Harrison of Chandler, Arizona; nephew Bill Hines of Scottsdale, Arizona; and numerous grand-nieces and nephews.
