Margaret Millican

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, at Terpening Son Chapel for Margaret C. Millican of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Millican, 73, died Monday, September 16, 2013 at her home.

Pastor Robert Ellis will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Wages, Sr., Todd Evans, Stephen Chavez, Oakley Wright, Zachary Wright,and Shacolby Stall.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Margaret was born March 21, 1940 in Walnut Hill, Florida the daughter of John Allison and Arelia Sikes Allison.

On March 23, 1969 she was married to Sherly Dean Slick Millican in Artesia. They came to Artesia in 1963 from Colorado. He preceded her in death February 22, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents 2 sisters and 7 brothers.

Margaret was a meat wrapper for SafeWay and attended Calvary Baptist Church and Centre Ave. Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt that enjoyed crafts including knitting and crocheting. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters Vicki Millican of Artesia, and Deedra Wright and husband Chris of Bryan, Texas sons John Bettencourt of Houston, Texas, Troy Bettencourt, and Richard Bettencourt both of Artesia 13 grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
