Margaret Carrasco

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Our Lady of Grace Church for Margaret Flores Carrasco of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Carrasco, 82, died Monday, February 15, 2016 at her home.

Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. A Rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

Margaret was born December 22, 1933 in Dewalt, Texas; the daughter of Augustine Flores and Mable (Thompson) Flores. She was a longtime Artesia resident.

On Sept. 20, 1952 she was married to Jesus B. Carrasco in Artesia, NM. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1988.

She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Margaret enjoyed quilting and sewing and loved to play Bingo with her close friends at San Pedro Nursing Facility.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 15 siblings; son Jesus F. Carrasco; and a great-grandson Izaak Joel Carrasco.

Survivors include her grandchildren Izaak J. Carrasco and fiance Deeann Taylor of Artesia, April D. Carrasco of Artesia, Joseph Rodriguez-Carrasco and Nehemiah Almanza; sisters Connie Aguilar of Bakersfield, CA and Irene Juarez of Bakersfield, CA; brother Otto Flores of Bakersfield, CA.
