Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Terpening Son Mortuary. Born in Jordanow, Poland on July 5, 1935, she moved to the United States at the age of 12 where she received her first Hershey candy bar as she came thru the gates at Ellis Island, which remained one of her favorites throughout life. Although known for adopting cats in need, she was a lover of all living things. Her heart was sincere, with a kind and giving spirit. She had a green thumb; loving to talk about and spend time in her beautiful garden. Marcia was the greatest and proudest mother of her 6 children, referring to them as the jewels in my crown. She is survived by Ruth and Richard Cardall of Denver, Lora and Jeff Machado of Denver, Carlyle Raymond Jr. of Seattle, Joseph and Debi Raymond of Seattle, Gail Raymond of Denver, Jill and Bobby Branch of Artesia; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother Lucian Zygmunt, and her cats Peach, Ziggy, Nichol, Spooky, Pilgrim, Colors and Chicklet. The family requests donations be made to the Humane Society or Paws and Claws of Artesia.
