Marcelino Sosa Jr.

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 26, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Marcelino Sosa, Jr., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Sosa, 41, died Saturday, March 20, 2004in Artesia. Father Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ricky Kimble, Kerry Ornelas, Damien Diaz, Timmy Salsberry, Ricky Perez, and Larry Olguin. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Ybarra, Doyle Hughes, Lee Jacquez, Paul Juarez, Ronnie Samora, Adrian Cunningham, and Edward Salsberry. A rosary service is also scheduled for 6:30 P.M. Thursday, at Our Lady of Grace Church. Mr. Sosa was born June 12, 1962 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Marcelino B. Sosa and Vera Hernandez Sosa. He moved to California in 1981 and returned to Artesia in 1996. He served in the Marine Corp andowned and operated Golden Eagle Exterminators. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Moose Lodge, and sponsored the Supersonics Basketball League. He was preceded in death by his mother Vera Sosa. Survivors include his father Marcelino B. Sosa of Artesia; son Christopher Sosa of Ft. Benning, Georgia; brothers Fred Sosa of Artesia, and Terry Sosa of Artesia; sisters Betty Lawson of Midland, Texas and Debra Sosa of Artesia; grandson Angel Torrez; numerous nieces and nephews; andmany, many friends including longtime friend and mentor T.W. Harvey.
