Services will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Wednesday, January 13th at 10:00 a.m. for Manuela Navarrette Reza of Artesia, New Mexico.
Manuela Reza a long time resident of Artesia passed away at home with family by her side at the age of 85.
Manuela was born September 28, 1930 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Emiterio and Eloisa Navarrette.
Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jay Oliver, Escolastico Reza III, Sammy Marquez Jr., Enrique Reza Jr., Ruben Madrid, Trinidad Malone, Anthony Ramirez, and David Samora III. With Bernie Ray Hinojos , Ezequiel Reza, David Reza, Dani Aranda, and Trevor Joseph as Honorary Pallbearers.
Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Tuesday, beginning at 4:00 p.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
On December 4, 1947, she married Escolastico Reza in Menton, Texas. They came to Artesia in 1961 from Anthony, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son Estevan Reza; grandson Esteban Reza and
great-granddaughter Sunni Rae Reza.
Manuela was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons Escolastico Jr., Enrique, Eduardo, Ector, Esequiel, Alfredo; daughters Enedina, Emma, Ernestina, Elena, Esperanza, Esther, Elvira, Elidia, Estella, Elisa, and Evangelina; 55 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
