Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Manuela Bejarano Mendoza of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Mendoza, 70, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Artesia General Hospital.
Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Benny Ray Casares, Eric Casares, Jr., Jacob Ryan Montoya, Novel Saenz Martinez, Jose Manuel Saenz Martinez, Jorge Armando Mendoza, and Carlos Marcelo Martinez.
Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Manuela was born June 15, 1943 in Mulato, Ojinaga, Mexico the daughter of Marcelo Bejarano and Elisa Ortiz Bejarano. She came to Artesia as a child from Mexico and was a longtime Artesia resident.
On September 29, 1975 she was married to Jorge Mendoza in Artesia. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sisters Elisa O. Bejarano and Marcela Bejarano.
Manuela was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters Sylvia Bejarano Mendoza of Las Cruces, N.M. and Armandina Urtiz and husband Jorge of Artesia sons Neal Bejarano Martinez of Artesia, and Robert Lee Martinez of Artesia 12 grandchildren Benny, Eric, Jacob, Tasha, Jorge, Kaylee, Andrea, Novel, Jose, Marcelo, Christopher, and Santana 4 greatgrandchildren sisters Maria Hernandez of California, Luz Montoya of Lovington, N.M., Clementa Lopez of Roswell, N.M., Catarina Vasquez of Loving, N.M., Ortencia Artiaga of Alamogorgo, N.M., and Josie Chavarria of Lake Arthur, N.M. and brother Jessie Bejarano of Las Cruces.
