Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 22 at Our Lady of Grace Church for Manuela M. Grado, 410 W. Dallas St., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Grado, 76, died Saturday, May 18, 2002 at her home. Father Virgilio Flores will officiate at the services with burial at Lake Arthur Cemetery in Lake Arthur, N.M. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Grados grandchildren. A rosary service is also planned for 6:30 P.M. Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace. Mrs. Grado was born June 11, 1925 in Terlingua, Texas; the daughter of Aurelio Melchor and Cirila Salazar Melchor. In 1951 she was married to Manuel B. Grado in Carlsbad, N.M. They came to Artesia in 1956 from Texas. Her husband preceded her in death November 12, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and two sisters. She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lake Arthur. Survivors include a daughter Rosa Grado and Baltazar Hernandez of Artesia; sons Jesse Grado and wife Rose, Oscar Grado and wife Arcilia and Martin Grado and wife Christina all of Artesia; sisters Paula Torrez of Alpine, Texas, Catalina Huerta of El Paso, Texas and Maria Sanchez of Lubbock, Texas; brothers Jose Melchor and Abel Melchor both of El Paso, Jesus Melchor, Aurelio Melchor and Guadalupe Melchor all of Mexico; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
