Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Manuela Martinez Gonzales, 901 N. Roselawn Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Gonzales, 73, died Monday, June 18, 2007 at her home. Fr. Richard Lifrak SS. CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Daniel Watts, Ricky Esquibel, Ernest Martinez, Raul Martinez, Javier Martinez, and Ramiro Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Esquibel and all other grandchildren and god-children. A vigil service is also scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Gonzales was born November 4, 1933 in Ruidosa, Texas; the daughter of Pedro P. Martinez and Manuela R. Cabezuela Martinez. She came to Artesia in 1946 from Ruidosa, Texas. On May 20, 1953 she was married to Daniel R. Gonzales in Carlsbad, N.M. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2003. She was a housekeeper at Yates Petroleum for 27 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and Cursillistas. She was preceded in death by her father, a sister Elvira Sanchez and a brother Pete C. Martinez. Survivors include her mother Manuela C. Martinez of Artesia; sons Adan Gonzales and wife Emma of Midland, Texas, Daniel Gonzales and wife Ethel of Artesia, Fabian Gonzales of Artesia, and George Gonzales and wife Blanca of Midland; daughters Angelita Cirabisi and husband Salvatore of Panama City, Florida, Martha M. Gonzales of San Antonio, Texas, and Laura Watts and husband Ralph of Artesia; brothers Elauterio Chindo Martinez of Artesia, and Sammy Martinez of Artesia; sisters Lilia Martinez of Artesia, and Grace Armendariz of Artesia; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
