Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Manuela Fuentes, W. Dallas Ave. Artesia, New Mexico. PMrs. Fuentes, 90, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at her home. Father Richard Lifrak SS. CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Fuentes, Ruben Fuentes Jr., Alfredo Navarrette, Brent Fuentes, Tony Fierro Jr., Josh Quintela, Louis Anaya Jr., Hector Calderon and Tina Rodriguez. PA vigil service is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace. Visitation at Terpening amp; Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. PMrs. Fuentes was born March 31, 1916 in Ruidosa, Texas; the daughter of Febronio Ramirez and Felipa Galindo Ramirez. On October 15, 1929 she was married to Jesus Fuentes Sr. in Ruidosa, Texas. She came to Artesia in 1947 from Texas. He preceded her in death May 24, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, a grandchild, a great-grandchild, three brothers, and two sisters. PShe was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughters Helen Navarrette of Artesia, Sally Calderon and husband Victor of Tularosa, N.M., Dora Fierro and husband Tony of Artesia, Elvira Quintela and husband Ricky of Artesia, Alice Mendoza and husband David of Tucson, Arizona, and Lorina Anaya and husband Louis of Hobbs, N.M.; sons Juan Fuentes and wife Sylvia of Artesia, Ruben Fuentes and wife Angie of Carlsbad, N.M., and Benny Fuentes of Artesia; brothers Jesus Ramirez of Odessa, Texas, and Febronio Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas; sister Francisca Villafranco of Midland, Texas; 34 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
