Services are scheduled for 10 am Wednesday, September 8, at Trinity Temple Assembly of God for Manuela Calderon of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Calderon, 70, died on August 29, 2021 in Artesia.
Bobby Argo will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ramon Calderon, Manuel Calderon, Joe Calderon Pedro Calderon, Martin Calderon, Carlos Renteria, and Miguel Renteria. Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 1 to 6 pm on Tuesday.
Manuela was born on July 22, 1951 in Artesia; the daughter of Amador Herrera and Juanita Gomez Herrera. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia. She was married to Juan Calderon Sr. on July 3, 1971. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2015.
She was a member Trinity Temple Assemblly of God and taught Sunday School for many years. She volunteered at the Food Bank distribution and enjoyed keeping her grandchildren in line, dancing, making tamales and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She loved roses and going to Carlsbad every Sunday for h a burger from Becky's Drive-In.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sons David Calderon and Jeremiah Calderon, granddaughter Adriana Calderon, and great-granddaughter Nayeli Rodriguez.
Survivors include her sons Steven Calderon, Mark Calderon and Blanca Moya, and John Calderon Jr. and wife Naomi; daughter Monica Tesillo and husband Jose; sister Lucia Hernandez; and ten grandchildren.
