Manuel Onsurez

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, at Terpening Son Mortuary for Manuel D. Onsurez, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Onsurez, 84, died Monday, June 12, 2006 in Artesia. Pastor Manuel Carrera will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Onsurez, Robert Webb, Pedro Chacon, Thomas Allison, Merejildo Acosta, Jeremy Acosta, Todd Onsurez, and Andy Webb. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Onsurez was born December 8, 1921 in Loving, New Mexico; the son of Cresencio Onsurez and Rufina Domingez Onsurez. On March 20, 1954 he was married to Cleofas Tarango in Chihuahua, Mexico. He came to Artesia in 1954. He was employed by the City of Artesia Street Department and member of the Christian faith. Survivors include his wife Cleofas Onsurez of the family home; a daughter Lupe O. Webb and husband Andy of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother Gregrio Onsurez of Artesia; a sister Virginia Onsurez of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren Robert Webb and Jennifer Webb both of Tucson, Jessica Allison and husband Thomas of San Antonio, Texas, and Brandy Onsurez, Paul Jeffery Onsurez, and Todd Onsurez all of Carlsbad, N.M.; and five great-grandchildren.
