Funeral services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6 at Trinity Temple Assembly of God for Manuel Miranda of Artesia.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Manuel Miranda, loving father, grandfather, and husband, went to his heavenly home with the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2017. He passed at dawn at the family home in Artesia, NM, with his wife, Norma, by his side.

Manuel was born on August 28, 1960, in Artesia, New Mexico, to Augustine and Maria (Lujan) Miranda.

On March 13,1981, Manuel married the love of this life, Norma Orosco, and together they raised their three children; Valerie, Jerome, and Javier. Manuel was an honest, hardworking man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He worked in the oil and gas industry and was very well-liked and respected. Manuel worked until four years ago when his health declined . He took pride in his yard and home, but especially his 1970 candy-apple red Super Sport Chevelle that he parted ways with when his children were of driving age so that he could ensure their safety and keep them from the temptation of a beautiful and too fast hot rod car. Manuel didn't think twice of the sacrifice of one of his greatest trophies for the well-being of his family. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his children and was especially close with his grandchildren.

We will miss him all the days of our lives, but take comfort in knowing he's at peace with his Lord and Savior in his heavenly home after his lengthy illness. Of this we have no doubt because he loved the Lord with all his heart.

Those left to mourn him are his wife, Norma Miranda, children Valerie Orosco, Jerome Miranda, Javier Miranda; grandchildren Javin, Elijah, Cameron, Jordan, Kylie, and Chloe; nieces, nephews, cousins; brother Jesse Miranda; and one aunt.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Lujan Miranda, father, Augustine Miranda, brother Augustine Miranda, sister Louisa Villegas.

We, Manuel's family, would like to thank Lakeview Hospice, his caring nurse, Vickie for the excellent care he received. Greatly appreciated is the assistance and guidance provided by Terry McKean, Lakeview Hospice chaplain. Last but not least, we'd like to express our gratitude to Pastor Argo, associate pastors and members of the congregation from Trinity Temple Assembly of God for all the prayers, concern and care received.

Manuel, God saw that you were getting tired and a cure was not meant to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to me.' With tearful eyes, we watched you pass away into the arms of the Lord. Although we loved you deeply, your golden heart stopped beating, your hardworking hands finally at rest It broke our hearts, but proved to us that He only takes the best. Those we love remain with us,for love itself lives on. And cherished memories never fade, even though a loved one is gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there are memories, they'll live on forever in your heart. You touched so many lives with your kindness, loving, and peaceful nature - you will always be missed. On behalf of our entire family here we wish you farewell.

Rest in peace in the arms of our Lord. We are confident that you are now with our Creator.
