Manuel Hernandez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Our Lady of Grace Church for Manuel B. Hernandez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Hernandez, 67, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, N.M.

Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Hernandez, Paul Hernandez, Johnny Hernandez, Frank Hernandez, Arturo Hernandez, Martin Hernandez, Shun Hernandez, and Michael Contreras. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Hernandez, Steve Hernandez, Israel Contreras, and Raymond Hernandez

Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church beginning at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.A rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady Grace.

Manuel was born October 24, 1944 in Artesia the son of Pete Hernandez and Lola Balencia Hernandez. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia.

He served his country in the Unites States Army Reserves.

Manuel was a farm laborer at Rogers Farm and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.

Survivors include his son Manuel Hernandez, Jr. and wife Terri of Artesia daughters Margaret Trujillo and companion Roberta Tarr of Moriarity, N.M., and Melissa Delgadillo and husband Joel of Moriarity brothers Fred Hernandez and wife Lupe, Paul Hernandez, Johnny Hernandez, Martin Hernandez, Arturo Hernandez and wife Val, Frank Hernandez, Joe Hernandez and wife Ignacia, Steve Hernandez, and Raymond Hernandez sisters Nancy Contreras and husband Israel, Lucy Campos and husband Ed, Lupe Levario and husband Sid, and Corina Hernandez 9 grandchildren 5 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
