Manuel Grado

Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Friday, November 16, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Manuel Bejarano Grado, 6336 Seven Rivers Highway, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Grado, 71, died Monday, November 12, 2001 at Artesia General Hospital. Father Virgilio Flores will officiate at the services with burial at the Lake Arthur Cemetery in Lake Arthur, N.M. Pallbearers will be Jose Grado, Martin Grado, Jr., Jose Luis Grado, Manuel Grado, Jesse Grado, Jr. and Chris Grado. A rosary service is also scheduled for 6:30 P.M. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace. Mr. Grado was born July 4, 1930 in Redford, Texas; the son of Jose Grado, Sr. and Patricia Bejarano Grado. He came to Artesia in 1946 from Texas. In 1951 he was married to Manuela Melchor in Carlsbad, N.M. He was a farm laborer and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; three sisters; a son Guadalupe Grado, Sr.; and a grandson Guadalupe Grado, Jr. Survivors include his wife Manuela Grado of the family home; sons Jesse Grado and wife Rose, Oscar Grado and wife Arcilia and Martin Grado and wife Christina all of Artesia; daughter Rosa Grado and Baltazar Hernandez of Artesia; brothers Marcos Grado of Lubbock, Texas, Jesus Grado of Morton, Texas, Frank Grado of Carlsbad and Isidro Grado of Lake Arthur; sisters Cruz Soto of Lake Arthur and Socorro Grado of Fort Stockton, Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grand-children.
