Services are scheduled at 9:30 AM. Friday, July 30, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Manuel Rios Anaya, 1 Mockingbird Lane, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Anaya, 89, died Monday, July 26, 2004 at Artesia General Hospital. Fr. Richard Lifrak SS. CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Anaya, Jamie Anaya, Louis Anaya Jr., Manuel Ortega, Raul Anaya, Manuel Anaya. Honorary pallbearers will be Martin Campos II, Steven Anaya, Jesus Manuel Ruiz Jr., Daniel Paul Anaya, Leonor Blankenship, Armando Valdez, Anabel Anaya, Francis Trujillo, Michelle Olguin, Jermaine Yanez, and Jessica Anaya. Mr. Anaya was born August 10, 1914 in San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico; the son of Vacilio Anaya and Paula Rios Anaya. On August 6, 1938 he was married to Manuela H. Anaya in Mulato, Mexico. He came to Artesia in 1955 from Loving New Mexico. She preceded him in death April 14, 1961. He was a Farmer and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace Church. He was preceded in death by a son Raul Anaya, two daughters, Leonor Anaya and Alvina Anaya, and a sister Ermile Anaya. Survivors include sons Juan Anaya of Artesia, Vacilio Anaya and wife Marcela of Dumas, Texas, Louis Anaya and wife Lorina of Hobbs, N.M., Paul Anaya and wife Peggy of Artesia, Cipriano Anaya of Artesia; daughters Adeliada Anaya of Las Vegas, N.M., Carmen Razo of Artesia, Dominga Campos and husband Martin of Roswell, N.M., Mary Ruiz of Artesia, Gloria Lopez and husband Jimmy of Albuquerque, N.M., Nellie Mendez of Carlsbad, N.M.; 34 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
