Lucille Lewis

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 27, at Pinon Baptist Church Pinon, N.M., for Lucille Lewis Schueltz, 649 Wylie Cox Circle, Portales, New Mexico. Mrs. Lewis, 83, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales. David Brunson will officiate at the services with burial at Pinon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Mrs. Lewis was born November 19, 1925 in Alamogordo, New Mexico; the daughter of Albert Thomas Lewis and Eva Green Lewis. On Dec. 23, 1943 she was married to Samuel Thomas Lewis Jr. in Alamogordo. He preceded her in death March 31, 1998. In Sept. 2002 she was married to Charlie Schueltz. He preceded her in death May 10, 2005. She was a lifelong resident of the Pinon and Weed area. She was a housewife and member of Pinon Baptist Church and Church at Dunken, Yucca Cowbelles, and the Pinon Extension Club. Survivors include sons Terry Lewis and wife Pauline of Eloy, Arizona, and Gary Lewis and wife Donna of Portales; step-son Lonnie Joe Schueltz and wife Marianne of Weed, N.M.; brothers Pat Lewis of Dell City, Texas, and Gaston Lewis and wife Caroline of Pinon; sisters Mable Winters of Aztec, N.M., and Nora Lea Lewis of Dell City; grandchildren Brent Lewis, D'Aun Lewis Gudgell, Spicer Lewis, Pace Lewis, Dean Lewis, Paige Lewis Whitecotton, Nikki Bowen and Amanda Schueltz; great-grandchildren Jacob and Wesley, Sierra and Sam, Tanna, W.T. and Weston, Tanner and Jaci, Tristen and Scout, Tracker and Price.
