Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 22, at Woodbine Cemetery for Louise G. Stroup, Artesia, New Mexico. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services. Mrs. Stroup, 91, died Friday, March 19, 2004 at Artesia Good Samaritan Center. She was born February 22, 1913 in Tucumcari, New Mexico; the daughter of Marcus Gault and Helen Johnson Gault. On August 11, 1934 she was married to Howard R. Stroup in Tucumcari. She came from there to Artesia in 1934. Her husband preceded her in death February 27, 1991. She was also preceded in death and by a sister Vena Cochran. Mrs. Stroup was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church; and a sewing club. Survivors include sons Mark Stroup and wife Angie of Las Cruces, N.M. and Tom Stroup of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter Mim Worlow of Artesia; a sister Helen Downey of Burlington, Vermont; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be made to the Howard Stroup Scholarship, co NMSU Agricultural Science Center - 67 E. Four Dinkus Rd. - Artesia NM 88210; the Artesia Public Library; or to a charity of choice.
