Lonnie Herrera

Lonnie "Lon" Herrera, 78, of Artesia, NM, died August 1, 2023, at his home in Artesia. A 1963 graduate of Artesia High School, Lon spent most of his life

in New Mexico and Texas working as a salesman. Prior to retirement, he had worked for I & W in the Artesia area.

Lon is preceded in death by parents, Martha Myers and step-father Clint Myers. His birth father, Florencio Herrera, died in 1952. Also passing on were sister, Mary Herrera Galvan, and brother, Charles Herrera. Survivors include daughters, Dawn and Debbie Herrera; brothers, Herbert Myers and Richard Myers; niece Jenny Bates; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Notably, among local relatives are the Baca and Aguilar families of Artesia.

Viewing and visitation will be held at Terpening and Sons in Artesia on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, from 4-6 pm. Burial and graveside services will be at Twin Oaks Cemetery on Monday, Aug. 7, from 11 am.
