Lola Jones

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, at Terpening Son Chapel for Lola Pearl Jones, 1400 Hilltop Circle, Kerrville, Texas. Mrs. Jones, 92, died Monday, October 2, 2006 at Hilltop Village in Kerrville. Rev. Walt Isaacs will officiate at the services with burial at Upper Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Jones, Clyde Jones, Alan Jones, Robert Jones, Sr., Kelly Jones, and Scott Skeggs. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Jones, Justin Jones, Cory Jones, Tony Hazle, Terry Hazle Stanley Davis, and W.G. Davis. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Jones was born December 8, 1913 in Patagonia, Arizona; the daughter of John Clyde Shields and Janie Melissa Teague Shields. On June 30, 1930 she was married to Henry B. Bill Jones in Lovington, N.M. She lived most of her life in the Hope and Artesia area. He preceded her in death Nov. 7, 1990. She was a housewife and member of West Main Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Zona Hazle, 2 sisters, and 6 brothers. Survivors include daughter Melissa Jones and husband Ed Baur of Kerrville; sons Dolph Jones and wife Ann of Artesia, Ray Jones and wife Joyce of Artesia, Floyd Jones and wife Sharon of Spokane, Washington, and Robert Jones and wife Nancy of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters Ola Mae Bratten of Arkansas, and Pat Davidson of California; sisters-in-law Lula Aganski of El Paso, Texas, and Bess Jones of Portales, N.M.; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
