Lola Huerta

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Lola Huerta, 501 Clevelland Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Huerta, 89, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Artesia General Hospital.

Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerome Huerta, Alejo Cortez, Savalo Huerta, Nathan Hernandez, David Carrasco, and Ramiro Martinez.

A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Church Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Huerta was born December 28, 1920 in Terlingua, Texas.

On July 20, 1939 she was married to Manuel Huerta in Artesia. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia. He preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1997.

She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Sacred Heart of Jesus, Apostolado, and Cursillistas.

She was preceded in death by her parents Isabella and Lupe Casas, 4 sons Ben, Chilo, Junior and Henry, 3 grandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren and 1 greatgreatgrandchild.

Survivors include son John Huerta and wife Nancy of Albuquerque, N.M. daughters Sally Carrasco and husband David of Carlsbad, N.M., Angie Martinez and husband Sammy of Artesia, Betty Hernandez and husband Jimmy of Artesia, Helen
Granny Huerta of Artesia, Corina Gurrola and husband Dale of Artesia, and Gracie Huerta and Daniel Tesillo of Artesia 43 grandchildren, 81 greatgrandchildren, 18 greatgreatgrandchildren.
