Lois Watson

Graveside Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, at the Antioch Cemetery for Lois Watson, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Watson, 93, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at Artesia Good Samaritan Center.

Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services. Visitation at Terpening amp; Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.

Lois was born September 24, 1914 in Stephens, Texas; the daughter of Earl W. Collins and Katie Jane Yocum Collins.

On Dec. 5, 1933 she was married to Simon S. Watson. He preceded her in death Feb. 1, 1985. She came to Artesia in 1993 from Hobbs, N.M.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and by one son.

Mrs. Watson was a waitress and member of the Baptist denomination.

Survivors include a son Jeridiah Watson of Rio Linda, Calif.; a daughter-in-law Karen Mendenhall; brothers Fred Collins of Artesia, Pete Collins of Clarkston, Wash., and Gene Collins of Portales, N.M.; sisters Johnnie Cooper and Jerry Ramsey both of Artesia, and Helen Rogers of Hedley, Texas; grandchildren Sabrina Hulette, Boyd Mendenhall, Dawn Hartley, Luke Mendenhall, Brandon McLeod of Hobbs, N.M. and Dustin Pierce; and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
