Lois Herring

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, at Terpening & Son Chapel for Lois Ann Herring of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Herring, 75, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at her home.

Don Johnston will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mak Johnson, Wayland Newberry, John Smith, Lewis Derrick, Jody Jackson, and Brandon Brown.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Lois was born March 17, 1940 in Brownwood, Texas; the daughter of Harvey Fambrough and Kathryn (Preston) Fambrough. She came to Artesia in 1958 from Tularosa, N.M.

On Dec. 20, 1958 she was married to Jimmie Doss Herring in Hagerman, N.M. He preceded her in death July 18, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son Dale Wayne Herring; and two brothers Harvey Ray and Preston Lee Fambrough.

Lois was a homemaker and of the baptist denomination. She was a member of the Eddy County Extension club and liked to work with wood, croche and make quilts.

Survivors include her son Jimmie Herring and wife Pam of Artesia; sister Janel Hill of Portales, N.M.; 3 grandchildren Brittany Johnson and husband Mak, Leann Herring, and Baili Herring; and a great-grandson Kale Johnson.
