Loda Kimmons

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at Pinon Cemetery in Pinon, New Mexico for Loda A. Kimmons of Hope, New Mexico.

Mr. Kimmons, 84, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his home.

Dennis Hammer Jones will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be David Ramirez, Billy Bailey, Jeremy Sangiacomo, Charles Dean, Donald Dean,and Jason Kimmons.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Loda was born January 18, 1930 in Corona, New Mexico the son of Charles Kimmons and Jesse Greenwood Kimmons. He came to Artesia in Hope in 1994 from El Paso, TX.

On May 5, 1951 he was married to Mary Ann Rene Gallian in Alamogordo, NM. They came to Hope in 1994 from El Paso, TX. She preceded him in death November 28, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.

He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and the beginning of the Vietnam War. After 20 years of service he retired from the military in 1968.

Loda then worked for El Paso Natural Gas and retired from there in 1986 after 18 years of employment.

Survivors include his daughters Deborah Cormicle of Norman, Arkansas, Kelly Sangiacomo and husband Jerry of Buckley, Washington, and Lena Vahle and husband Kevin of Indianapolis, Indiana sons Dennis Lee Kimmons of Dallas, Texas, Alan Dale Kimmons of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jason Kimmons and wife Amanda of Hope 11 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren.
