Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 16, at Trinity Temple Assembly for Liz Baker, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Baker, 72, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at Artesia General Hospital. Pastor Bobby Argo and Pastor Don Price will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be friends of the family. No visitation is scheduled. Mrs. Baker was born April 13, 1933 in Daisy, Oklahoma; the daughter of Clarence Junor Cole and Alma Nunn Cole. On April 5, 1958 she was married to James Benson Baker in Las Cruces, N.M. She came to Artesia in 1961 from Texas. She was a homemaker, an accomplished artist, and a member of Trinity Temple Assemblies. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Patricia and Ruby Cole. Survivors include her husband James Baker of family home; sons James C. Baker and wife Gina of Dallas, Texas, and Larry Murphy of Artesia; daughter Shirley Murphy of Artesia; sisters Nadine White of Napa Valley, Calif., Maxine Woodard and husband Bill of Alvarado, Texas, and Priscilla Sturdavant and husband Alan; brothers George Cole of Midland, Texas, and Jerry Cole and wife Gloria of Napa Valley; sisters-in-law Stella Heathington of Artesia, and Billie Vogt and husband Vern of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Jimmy Hudson of Tacoma, Washington, Robby Rosenbaum of Houston, Texas, Jennifer Murphy and Jason Murphy both of Roswell, N.M., and Brian Murphy; two nephews and a niece. Memorial contribution may be made to the Lupus Foundation.
