Lisa Rodriguez

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 28 at Trinity Temple for Lisa Jane Rodriguez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Rodriguez, 47, died December 15, 2018 at her home in Artesia.

Pastor Cornelio Martinez will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Israel Catano, Mark Cabezuela Jr., Amos Ortega Jr., Lupe Cabezuela, Gilbert Grado, and Nicholas Rodriguez.

Visitation will begin Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Lisa was born August 12,1971 in Hobbs, New Mexico the daughter of Reynaldo Cabezuela and Jane (Ortega) Cabezuela. She was a longtime Artesia resident. She was a teacher's assistant at Artesia HeadStart. Lisa attended Trinity Temple Assembly of God. She enjoyed interacting with children of all ages, watching Hallmark movies, leisure time, spending time with family and friends, and watching her favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys. Lisa will be remembered by her strong laughter and love for life and people. She had a welcoming spirit toward others every where she went.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reynaldo and Jane Cabezuela, brother Mark Cabezuela, brother Amos Ortega, brother Steve Cabezuela, sister Sandra Cabezuela, and her beloved son Otis Chavez Jr.

Survivors include her husband Abel Rodriguez of Artesia, her mother-in-law, Lydia Rodriguez of Hobbs, NM, her stepsons: Matthew Rodriguez and wife Margarita of Colorado, Nicolas Rodriguez of Colorado, Isaac Rodriguez of Albuquerque, NM, and Steven Rodriguez of Artesia, her stepdaughters: Stephanie Rodriguez of Hagerman, NM and Raquel Rodriguez of Roswell, NM, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandchildren.
