Graveside services are scheduled at 3:00 P.M. Monday, October 20, at Woodbine Cemetery for Linnie Bill Mullenax, 306 S. 19th Street, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Mullenax, 91, died Saturday, October 18, 2003 at Artesia Good Samaritan Center. Gary Smith will officiate at the services. Mrs. Mullenax's great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. She was born July 10, 1912 in Bridgeport, Texas; the daughter of James Alexander Hart and Della Rose McDaniel Hart. She came to Artesia in 1927 from Texas. On October 1, 1927 she was married to Frank James Mullenax in Artesia. Her husband preceded her in death December 4, 1970. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son Frank J. Mullenax, Jr.; and by two brothers and three sisters. She was a homemaker and former hotel linen controller. She was a member of the Methodist denomination and former member of B.P.O. DOES. Survivors include her daughter Bertha Logsdon of Artesia; a sister Lillie Belle Butler of Belen, N.M.; grandchildren Linda Johnson, Deborah Barnett, Janie Smith, and Roy Logsdon all of Artesia; ten great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Artesia Good Samaritan Center - 1402 Gilchrist - Artesia, NM 88210.
