Linda Hamilton-Harris

Services are scheduled at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sep. 8, at Garden St. Baptist Church in Carlsbad, N.M. for Linda Hamilton of Lubbock, Texas.

Mrs. Hamilton, 60, died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Heritage Oak Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Lubbock.

Jimmy Hamilton will officiate at the services. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hamilton, Jr., Colby Hamilton, Amber Hamilton, Jesicca Huggins, Randall Hamilton II, Randall Hamilton III, Michael Hamilton, Eric Hamilton, and Karen Gehl.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening and Son Mortuary.

Linda was born December 31, 1954 in Weatherford, Texas; the daughter of Billie E. Hamilton and Wilda (Covington) Hamilton. She came to Artesia in in 2012 from Brownwood, TX then moved to Lubbock 2013.

On January 1, 2004 she was married to Anthony Harris in Artesia, NM. He preceded her in death 2010.

She worked in the banking industry and later became a mortgage broker. Linda was a Baptist and loved to sing for churches. She loved her family and enjoyed being around people. She had a presence about her and she never met a stranger. She demanded attention from everyone when she walked into a room.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Randall Hamilton; and nephew Justin Hamilton.

Survivors include her brothers Jimmy Hamilton and wife Toni of Artesia, NM and Ricky Hamilton of Midland, TX; sister-in-law Sandra Hamilton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
