Lillie Melton

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 25, at Terpening Son Chapel for Lillie Josephine Melton, 1802 Old Highway 70 North, Dierks, Arkansas. Mrs. Melton, 85, died Thursday, April 18, 2002 at Christus St. Michael Health Center in Texarkana, Texas. David Brunson will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Frank Morgan, Jimmy Olguin, Terry Colwell, Joe Johnson, Buddy Delong, and Jim Parker. Mrs. Melton was born March 31, 1917 in Brown County, Texas; the daughter of Ausey Edgar Wooldridge and Mary Ann Brown Wooldridge. On June 9,1939 she was married to A.B. Andy Melton in Stephenville, Texas. He preceded her in death Oct. 21, 2000. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Vera Clark Wooldridge, sister Evelyn Chaney, and a grandson Jacob Andrew Melton. Survivors include sons Ben Melton of Tulsa, Okla., Roger Melton of Dierks, Ark., John Melton and wife Donna of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughters Andrea Sechrist and husband Gary of Dierks, Mary Johnson of Artesia, NM; brothers Roger Wooldridge of San Antonio,Texas, Clark Wooldridge and wife Barbara of Amarillo, Texas, Stanley Wooldridge of Canyon, Texas; sister Jerry Ann Simpson and husband Bill of Austin, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
