Lester Wright

August 23, 1944 — September 14, 2011

Lester Allen Wright, born on August 23, 1944 in El Paso, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday Sept.14, 2011 after a long fight with cancer.

Lester was a man who loved life. In his younger years, he served in the Navy. During the 1970s Lester was in the trucking business for Dozier Equipment. In the early 80s Lester moved into the agricultural parts business and worked in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma City, and Carlsbad, N.M. In September of 1989 Lester was hired as Parts Manager by Ericson Equipment in Artesia and worked there until his retirement.

Lester was a quiet unassuming man who loved to read and work with computers. His life reflected who he was on the inside, and later in his life that reflection was one of Jesus Christ.

Lester is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Sue Jackson and brother inlaw Terry Jackson of Denver Colorado, and Joy Boyd of Butte, Montana, and an uncle, A.E. Turner. Lester will be missed by his family and friends.

Memorial services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at First Presbyterian Church, 402 W Grand Ave., Artesia, N.M. Rev. Dan Phelps will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
