Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, at Terpening Son Mortuary for Lester C. Skip George, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. George, 61, died Monday, December 4, 2006 in Lubbock, Texas. Rev. Paul Dean Duerksen will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Mr. George was born February 3, 1945 in Artesia; the son of Lester Coleman George and Bernice Durbin George. On Dec. 31, 1973 he was married to Camille Stone in Artesia. He was a journeyman plumber, pipefitter and welder; and was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union No. 412. He attended First United Methodist Church. Skip was preceded in death by his father; and by a sister Phyllis Kafton. Survivors include his wife Camille George of the family home; his mother Bernice George of Artesia; sons Lester C. Cole George, III and wife Karen of Skiatook, Okla. and Joel Glenn George and wife Cheryce C. George of Lubbock; a daughter Lesli Bray and husband Charles of Amarillo, Texas; sisters Mary Noble of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Glenda Doughty and husband Loyd of Artesia, Anne Waller and husband Glen of Artesia, and Vicki Hash and husband Whit of Cloudcroft, N.M.; a brother Steve George and wife Shelley of Artesia; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
