Leroy Franco

Services are scheduled at 2:00 PM Friday, August 9, at Church of God for Leroy Chavez Franco, 718 Cleveland Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Franco, 28, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Artesia General Hospital. Bro. Pete Perez will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Longoria, Pete Perez Jr., Benjamin Sosa, Ventura Doporto Jr., Rudy Estrada, and Saul Peralta. Honorary pallbearers will be Armando, Arturo, Sammy, Carlos, Pete, Joey, and Joe. Mr. Franco was born October 8,1973 in Carlsbad, NM; the son of Roy Franco and Siria Chavez Franco. On Aug. 13, 1998 he was married to Abigail Valencia in Artesia, NM. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia. He was a Manager of Sonic. Preceded in death by a grandfather in July of 1985. Survivors include wife Abigail Franco of the family home; father Roy Franco of Seattle, Washington; mother Siria Chavez of Artesia; daughter Briana Valencia of Artesia; sons J.C. Salinas of Artesia, Daniel Salinas of Artesia, brother Christopher Mendoza of Carlsbad, NM; grandmother Eloiza Saldana of Carlsbad; godparents Rudy and Alice Estrada of Carlsbad; numerous aunts, uncles, a nephew and a niece.
